The auto range function allows automatic setting of the operating region (voltage and current). It also provides a better resolution of the measurement reading without changing the operating region manually.
Select the Enable Auto Range checkbox to enable auto ranging. If the measured voltage/current value is less than the range, the voltage/current range will be changed to the nearest range.
The algorithm to determine the changes of the existing range is based on the following tables.
2 V | 20 V | |
Measured voltage ≤ 2 V | No change | Change to 2 V range |
Measured voltage > 2 V | Change to 20 V range | No change |
1 µA | 10 µA | 100 µA | 1 mA | 10 mA | 120 mA | |
Measured current ≤ 1 µA | No change | Change to 1 µA | Change to 1 µA | Change to 1 µA | Change to 1 µA | Change to 1 µA |
Measured current ≤ 10 µA | Change to 10 µA | No change | Change to 10 µA | Change to 10 µA | Change to 10 µA | Change to 10 µA |
Measured current ≤ 100 µA | Change to 100 µA | Change to 100 µA | No change | Change to 100 µA | Change to 100 µA | Change to 100 µA |
Measured current ≤ 1 mA | Change to 1 mA | Change to 1 mA | Change to 1 mA | No change | Change to 1 mA | Change to 1 mA |
Measured current ≤ 10 mA | Change to 10 mA | Change to 10 mA | Change to 10 mA | Change to 10 mA | No change | Change to 10 mA |
Measured current ≤ 120 mA | Change to 120 mA | Change to 120 mA | Change to 120 mA | Change to 120 mA | Change to 120 mA | No change |
